Care amiche, felice Pink Saturday!

Ancora una volta armata di macchina fotografica mi sono messa alla caccia di oggetti rosa da poter postare oggi per l'appuntamento di Pink Saturday di Beverly di How Sweet the Sound http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/.

First thing I found on my way is a big pink millinery rose under a cloche standing on a vintage plate with a dainty rose decor.

PINK SATURDAY #1

Carissime Amiche, che vergogna, sono in ritardo per il mio primo Pink Saturday post. Come tutte le ragazze non sono affatto indifferente al rosa ed ecco quindi trovata un'altra iniziativa li fuori in bloglandia alla quale dedicarmi cercando tutto quello che c'è di rosa in giro per l'appartamento. All'inizio ho temuto di non trovare nulla da poter postare ma poi, guardandomi attorno con la dovuta attenzione ecco che tra una miridiade di cosine che la mia cara metà definisce carabattole sono spuntate fuori tante cosine che potrò condividere anche negli appuntamenti che seguiranno.

Prima di tutto voglio ringraziare la graziosa Beverly di "How Sweet the Sound" http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ che ospita questo appuntamento ogni sabato per avermi permesso di partecipare e vi invito ad andare a dare una sbirciatina a quello che le altre partecipanti (pensate, sono ben 180 questa settimana, davvero molte) hanno postato. Mettetevi comode, preparatevi una tazza di thé - che in una serata uggiosa e piovosa come quella che c'è dalle mie parti ci sta prorprio bene - ed immergetevi nel rosa che le nostre nuove amiche bloggherine hanno condiviso oggi.

My dearest friends, I'm late for my first Pink Saturday post. I'd better hurry as some new bloggy friends who have already come over for a visit didn't find the right post. Feeling sooooooooo ashamed...

Like all girls I'm not at all indifferent to ***PiNk***, so participating in Beverly's P.S. seemed just perfect. To be frank with you I was afraid I wouldn't have so much to share, but theen, when I started to look around the apartment a lot of pink thingies came out and managed to do quite some shoppping around my own home which I will be sharing also in the weeks to come.

Before I go on, I would like to send a big thank you to Beverly from "How Sweet the Sound" http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ for uniting so many of us gals (180 are participating this week and this is quite a number, isn't it) under OnE color: PiNk and for giving me the opportunity to join in the fun. Take the chance to visit Beverly's wonderful blog and take a peek of what the other participants have to share. As this might take awhile given the number of participants, brew some tea of your liking, make yourselves comfy and let PiNk surround you (some color theraphy!!!). This is going to be the best way to spend a dull gloomy rainy aturday evening like the one we have in my part of the world. And I'm sooo thrilled at the idea of meeting many new bloggy friends!

Questa scatola shabby chic è opera mia: l'ho invecchiata per conferirle il tipico colore shabby e l'ho adornata con delle rose di pasta di mais di colore rOSa cipria da me realizzate

And this shabby chic wooden box has been made by me. I have a passion for working with corn starch clay so I have painted (in Pink of course) and distressed the box to give it the shabby chic look I so much adore and have then embellished it with powder pInK corn starch clay roses I made.

TEACUP TUESDAY # 9 *** MORE RED TRANSFERWARE

eccoci di nuovo alle prese con un altro Teacup Tuesday. Debbo ammettere che questa volta non mi sono preparata a dovere, non ho scattato molte foto e non ho avuto l'imbarazzo della scelta su cosa postare.
Ciò non toglie che il piacere di partecipare al Teacup Tuesday è sempre enorme e mi offre la possibilità di guardare le mie adoratissime tazze in maniera sempre diversa.
Questa volta ho deciso di condividere con voi il mio trio Enoch Wedgwood acquistato su ebay qualche mese fa. il set è decisamente un mix 'n' match in quanto, a parte le due tazze, sia la caffettiera che la caraffina appartengono a potters diversi... eppoi sono ancora alla ricerca di una zuccheriera che non riesco a trovare da nessuna parte.

Hi my dearest bloggerettes, days are rolling along so quick lately that another Teacup Tuesday is here. Didn't have the time to work much on the pics I wanted to post this week but at the same time didn't want to miss the fun of joining the party... so all I did was grab my camera and take a few shots of my red transferware Enoch Wedgwood trio. Actually this is a sort of mix 'n' match set, where all the pieces are coming from different potters. I love every single piece though and never tire of looking at it (I showcase it on the upper shelf of my bookcase as all my china cabinets are filled to the brim).

Un tocco di bellezza provenzale *** A touch of Provencal beauty

Carissime amiche,
con il tempo che sta evolvendo sempre più rapidamente verso l'autunno era già un pò che pensavo di postare qualcosa di diverso... si un pò vezzoso visto che si tratta della nostra bellezza.
Lo scorso Natale la mia cara amica Irene ha regalato a mia figlia una crema bio per il viso dell'Occitane. Chiedendo venia per l'incolmabile ignoranza, era la prima volta che sentivo parlare di Occitane en Provence e sono stata così favorevolmente colpita per i risultati della crema che mi sono messa a curiosare in rete per saperne di più. Ho infatti trovato il sito dell'Occitane (http://www.loccitane.com/a-true-story,29,1,2270,106327.htm) ed una profumeria nei paraggi che tramite la Clarins tiene alcuni prodotti tra gli innumerevoli che l'Occitane produce.
Purtroppo in Italia ci sono pochissimi punti vendita, quasi tutti a Milano, e non è ancora attivo il sito web per acquistare online. La scelta in profumeria era abbastanza vasta e sono stata sommersa di campioncini per provare la linea più idonea per la mia pelle. sapete com'è... quanto ci si avvicina ai 50 i segni dell'età cominciano ad essere visibili!!!!
Ebbene, è stato amore a prima vista con la crema viso alla mandorla e mela. il suo profumo delizioso, la consistenza morbida e cremosa hanno avuto la meglio sugli altri prodotti. questa crema velutata ed aromatica giià dalle prime applicazioni rende la pelle visibilmente più bella e luminosa e l'aiuta a proteggersi dagli agenti atmosferici in maniera rapida ed efficace.
Fa parte della gamma di prodotti per i primi segni dell'invecchiamento (che parola orribile) e vale veramente la pena di provarla. Credetemi, sono stata talmente entusiasta che ho acquistato anche l'olio struccante alla mandorla e mela ed il tonico a base di sidro, mandorla e mela. Un vero tripudio di profumi delicati ed accattivanti che funziona anche come aromaterapia!

with fall showing its signs at a fast pace, my post today will be a little different from my other ones as I've be wanting to leave some space to vanity for quite a while and now this seems the perfect occasion.
to makke a long story short, my dear friend Irene sent my daughter for a Xmas gift a L'occitane en provence bio face cream. I was so impressed by the quick effects that decided to look the brand up on the internet to learn more. First thing I learnt is that in Italy there very few L'Occitane shops, mainly in Milan, and on-line purchasing is not yet possible.

Found a parfume shop near whome which thru Clarance can sell some of the thousand products that l'Occitane has to offer. The ladies at the shop were so sweet to give me some samples to try which one would best suit my complexion. Well, dear, it was love at first sight with the almond-apple cream. It smells heavenly, with a mild fresh apple scent. This velvety soft cream helps the skin to be firmer and softened from the very first applications and the apple helps tighten the pores and protects skin from free-radicals.
I was so happy with the cream that I decided to also go for the almond-apple cleansing oil and almod-apple tonic cider.
L'Occitane's beauty products are not cheap but indeed offer a good combination of quality and price.

Ho ancora qualche tazza nella mia collezione di tazze orfane ed allora mi sono detta: "Perchè no?"
Quella che sto mostrando oggi è una Bavaria acquistata su commissione da un collega in viaggio nella sua città di origine. In tutto tre tazze con piattino ed una maxi zuccheriera, ma li trovo deliziosi e sicuramente da condividere.

I still have a few cups I haven't shared yet so I said to myself "why not?" and here I am sharing
this orphaned Bavaria cup & saucer and huge sugar bowl. They were bought for me on commission from a coworker visiting his hometown. When I learnt he was going away for a few days asked him whether he could stop by some flea or antiques shop and buy a cup for me. gave him a budget and that was it... he ame back with this lovely orphaned Bavaria set: only three cups & sucers plus the sugar bowl. not a complete set but sure nice to share. hope you'll like it.

E LE FERIE SONO FINITE!! AND MY VACATION IS OVER!!

Carissime Bloggherine,
finalmente mi faccio viva, al ritorno dalle mie piovosissime vacanza in Alto Adige. Tempo orribile, pioggia e temporali tutti i giorni, temperature tipicamente autunnali...che dire? E' stata comunque una piacevole vacanza con tutta la famiglia in questo hotelnel tipico stile dell'alto adige dove andiamo ormai da otto anni.
Ho pensato di condividere con voi qualche pezzo di arredamento nel tipico stile della zona e niente di meglio delle cassapanche, tanto per iniziare. Che ne dite?

My dear Bloggherettes,
my rainy vacation in South Tyrol is over. The weather was awful all the time - rain, thunderstorms every day, and cooler temperatures more typical of fall rather than summer. but at least I had my holiday in this lovely, homey little hotel we've been staying at for eight years now and given the weather I could finally relax among all the comforts one could expect and imagine after a year of hard work both at the office and at home.
Didn't take many snapshots of the places we've visited as you can easily imagine that after eight years we know the area nearly by heart, but thought I could share some pics of the typical local decor, which is among my faves.

And now a peak of the Stube... the coziest and comfiest place in a Tyroler house. The stube is all covered by oak wood inside and out to retain the heat of the stove during the cold winters. The stube is the place where the family gets together. Some sort of living room I've been told.

WHITE WEDNESDAY # 19

Senza aver mai dimenticato il piacere dell'appuntamento del White Wednesday ospitato graziosamente da Kathleen di Faded Charm, ho purtroppo dovuto astenermi dal partecipare per numerose settiname.

Con l'estate al suo culmine e tutta questa luce attorno a me, ho sentito il desiderio di giocare un pò a cambiare e spostare i mobili per dare all'appartamento ancora più luce e carattere.

Ecco quindi alcuni scatti degli scorsi giorni. Niente di che, ma soltanto un'occasione per riprendere le buone abitudini.

As time goes by I realized that for several weeks I didn't join in the fun of Kathleen's White Wednesday weekly appointment. Not that I had had forgotten nor lost the pleasure in participating, just that I've got carried away by my daily routine to an extent that in the evening, which is the time I usually post or visit my dear bloggy friends' blogs, all I could think of was going to bed as soon as possible, thus neglecting my blog for quite some time.

Now that Summer is here, with all the light all around I felt the urge to play with my furniture and accents and rearrange them in order to give me apartment some character and a Summer look. Wasn't it about time?

The pics I'm sharing tonight are nothing special and to top that off didn't turn out that nice either, but they were taken on the spur of the moment for the simple pleasure of sharing. Hope you'll enjoy!
