Hello girls,
this week I would like to share with you my repurposed vintage gilt mirror project. The mirror, together with a lot of many other thingies, was coming from my parent’s home before this was put on sale. It had been sitting in a drawer for a very long time as I didn’t seem able to find a use for it. Although the 18-inch tall frame in itself was very pretty the color was absolutely ugly, dull and uninspiring. So, in a moment of shabby chic madness (in fact SORRY I forgot to take the be4 pics) I grabbed primer, white acrylic paint and a brush and painted it white using the dry brush technique. It took several coats of paint for me to cover the ugly gilt, but I finally got the color I really wanted to coordinate with the tea table it would end up on,. Once the paint was dry I placed four sticky felt pads onto the back of the mirror and repurposed it as a tray for my antique silver lovelies.
