WHITE WEDNESDAY # 11

Fino a qualche istante fa sono stata incerta se postare qualcosa per il WW, l'appuntamento settimanale ospitato da Kathleen di Faded Charm. Mi sentivo proprio a corto di immagini ed inoltre mi sono resa conto di essermi "applicata" assai poco nella ricerca di immagini giuste da postare. Ho meditato per alcuni istanti, guardato con cura le foto scattate nel corso della settimana, durante la mia attività preferita: girare per i negozi - ed ecco tornata l'ispirazione.

Il post di questa settimana raccoglie le immagini degli allestimenti natalizi che maggiormente mi hanno colpita.

Until a few minutes ago I was quite doubtful whether I should post for our weekly White Wednesday appointment so charmingly hosted by Kathleen at Faded Charm. I felt I had nothing special to show and share. having had very little time to devote to myself this past week I hadn't worked much on my WW inspiration. Took me a few minutes of intense meditation, looked carefully at the pics taken over the last few days during my fave activity: window shopping. I could then have my inspiration back. In this week's post I'll share the pics showing shops' decorations and displays of whites which have impressed me most. Not so many but definitely some fine ones, at least IMO.

DECK THE HALLS.... WITH A LOT OF RED

Per me il Natale parla di rosso... ho un irrefrenabile desiderio di circondarmi di oggetti e decorazioni di colore rosso che hanno l'effetto di scaldarmi il cuore . In questo senso sono un pò tradizionalista... se non c'è una bella Stella di Natale rossa - ebbene non è Natale. Quindi, avendo già comiciato a mettere fuori le mie decorazioni di Natale, ma badate bene, sono soltanto all'inizio, ho voluto aprire queste festività con il rosso...

For me Christmas is RED. Couldn't imagine Christmas in a different color than red. Of course, I adore also silver and white (they are so charming and elegant), but red is different: it truly has the power to warm my soul up and put me in a cheerful mood. After all, isn't this the season to be jolly?
In this sense, perhaps I'm a little conservative, but I like this way. And now that I've started decorating the apartment, I decided to start with RED accents here and there.
So, a red poinsettia is simply perfect to to give the place the right Christmasey touch...

I cuori sono le mie decorazioni preferite, e non soltanto per l'albero. Di vari colori e materiali, ne troverete a decine in tutto l'appartamento e li rimangono tutto l'anno.

Hearts happen to be my fave ornaments, not only for the tree though. I place them, in different colors and materials, all over the apartment, and keep them on place all year round. They are an all-time favorite of mine

Questo è il mio angioletto prim: Hope (Speranza) realizzato con avanzi di vecchi lenzuoli tinti con il the ed una vecchia camicia di mio marito. Vigila tutto l'anno all'ingresso dell'appartamento.

And this is Hope, my little prim angel. I made it a couple of years ago out of old tea-stained bed linens and a worn-out shirt of my husband. Since them, she's been sitting on a table in the hall to look upon us and also welcome guests.

WHITE WEDNESDAY # 10

Carisssime amiche, sognando già un BIANCO Natale, arrivo con immutato entusiasmo al nostro appuntamento settimanale del "Mercoledì Bianco" ospitato da Kathleen nel suo blog Feded Charm. Ed il mio delizioso alberello prim, sistemato all'ingresso accanto al telefono, sta li a rammentarmelo con la discrezione che si conviene ogni giorno della settimana.

My dearest blog friends, already "dreaming of a WHITE Christmas", I get with unchanged enthusiasm and a most pleasant feeling of anticipation to our so much longed for White Wednesday appointment. And my cute li'l WHITE prim Xmas tree, already proudnly standing in the hall right next to my precious vintage telephone, is there to sweetly and politely remind me, every day of the week, to get something ready for our weekly appointment.

*** Questa settimana è stato più semplice del previsto in quanto la mia amica di blog e fedelissima lettrice mi ha carinamennte inviato le foto le sue foto.

Si tratta della meravigliosa biancheria ricamata a mano ereditata da sua nonna, alcuni pezzi sono impreziositi da raffinati merletti o bordi. Io sono verde dall'invidia in quanto, come ormai saprete, adoro la biancheria antica, in particolar modo quella con le cifre. E qui c'è da rifarsi gli occhi. E' tutto semplicemente meraviglioso. Basta osservare con attenzione questi tesori e lasciar vagare la mente verso tempi ormai passati. Oggigiorno non è facile trovarne ai mercatini in quanto le persone non si disfano più di tali tesori.

Quando ho visto le foto è stato amora a prima vista. Non saprei dire cosa mi piace di più, li vorrei TUTTI. Come dicono nei paesi anglosassoni: "Sognare è gratis" quindi mi limiterò a sognare di meravigliosi letti di altri tempi

Finding something special to post has been easier than expected this week as my dear blog friend and faithful reader Eliana has sent me some pics of her precious heirloom. It's gorgeous antique hand embroidered linens, some of them with fine crochet lace hems or fringes, that have been passed down to her by her grandmother. I'm green with envy as je adore antique linens, especially monogrammed ones. And they also happen to be very difficult to find af flea markets as nowadays people no longer get rid of such treasures.

When I saw her photos it was love at first sight. couldn't tell what I love most - simply want them ALL.
Won't add any comments to the photos this time as I'll let the beauty of these precious bed linens and hand towels speak for themselves. Enjoy!
