ARGENTERIA VINTAGE / VINTAGE SILVERWARE

Happy Thursday everyone!
Do you like visiting flea markets as much as I do, and are you also always on the lookout for some treasures of yesteryear to take home with you? It never ceases to amaze me how old things discarded by some people can become treasures for others.
It was flea market weekend last weekend and despite the bad weather I did not miss the opportunity to go treasure hunting. I hardly ever go home empty handed and this time   was no exception. Today I would like to share with you a gorgeous vintage set of silver plate flatware for six I brought home for a very reasonable price (at least what I thought it to be). The moment I saw it I fell in love with the details. sooo pretty.
Gave them a nice bubble bath and polish (but not too much as I love my silver to be tarnished) and had fun setting up a vignette for some showoff.

More on my other lovely finds in another post!
Rita

  6. Isn't it funny how rich some inexpensive treasures can make you feel? The flatware is truly a great find and will make some beautiful place settings. In the meantime, your vignette is so soft and sweet.

  7. The silverware is beautiful :-) I like that you didn't polish it too much - the touch of patina is what makes the silver finish so soft & lovely :-)

  12. Hi Rita! I love the silver flatware! Good for you that you picked them up. I passed by a set not long ago at my local flea market, and by the time I had changed my mind and gone back, they were gone. :( I won't make that mistake again! And your table looks lovely. I especially like the quatrefoil mirror. Very pretty!

  15. Your display is gorgeous! I love old silverplate too, I have a collection of Community (the precursor to Oneida) in different patterns, that I use for the table. I also have other brands that I have rescued from thrift stores but my favorites are the Community. I have never thought to have them out like you do.....
