Ecco la parte difficile: raccontare 7 cose di me. Da dove comincio?
1) amo molto la mia famiglia e sono una moglie e mamma molto apprensiva (non migliora con l’età!!!)
2) sono una persona timida e riservata
3) sono una inguaribile romantica
4) sono una pessima cuoca e detesto cucinare
5) adoro i romanzi televisivi inglesi in costume: sono talmente romantici!
6) ho una vera e propria debolezza per i mercatini delle pulci
7) impazzisco letteralmente per le riviste ed i libri di arredamento

1) I love my family more than anything else in the whole world and I’m a very apprehensive wife and mother (that doesn’t improve with age!!!!)
2) I'm a rather shy and quite reserved person (doesn’t improve with age either!)
3) I’m an incurable romantic
4) I’m a terrible cook and hate cooking (hate to confess that my DH is the cook in our home)
5) I adore British period dramas: soooooooooooo romantic!
6) Have a weakness for fleamarkets
7)I’m obsessed with interior décor magazines and books (a nightmare for my DH)

LIBRI / BOOKS / LIVRES

Con la crescente popolarità degli e-readers, avete anche voi sostituito i vostri libri stampati con quelli elettronici?
Credete che i libri stampati potranno diventare obsoleti?
Io sono tra quelli che ritengono che nonostante la tecnologia svolga un ruolo sempre maggiore nelle nostre vite quotidiane, non vi sia nulla come toccare ed annusare la carta stampata e che la gioia che nasce dallo sfogliare le pagine di un vecchio ed amato libro stampato non abbia eguali.
Sono cresciuta tra migliaia di libri poiché mio padre aveva negli anni della mia infanzia messo insieme una delle più grandi biblioteche domestice che io abbia mai visto o che possa soltanto immaginare, ed essendo io stessa un’avida lettrice ho raccolto una considerevole quantità di libri.
Mi piace tenere pile di libri sul comodino ed una grande libreria alta fino soffitto è stata una dei primi mobili ad entrare nel mio nuovo appartamento.
Non credete anche voi che shabby o vintage, moderne o tradizionali che siano, le scaffalature e le librerie siano un elemento di arredo fondamentale in qualsiasi ambiente?

With the rising popularity of e-readers, have you also replaced your traditionally printed books with the electronically downloaded ones?
Do you believe that paper books could be eventually rendered obsolete?
I am among those believing that although technology is playing an ever increasing role in our daily lives, there’s nothing like the feel, the touch and the smell of a printed book and the joy of looking through the pages of old, treasured books can never be achieved with an e-reader.
I grew up among thousands of books, with my father having one of the largest in-house libraries I have ever seen and I could possibly imagine, and am an avid reader myself, having collected a sizable amount of book over the years.
I like to keep piles of books on my nightstand and a floor-to-ceiling library was among the very first pieces of furniture entering my new home.
Don’t you also believe that bookshelves and large libraries, shabby or vintage, trad or modern, make a great addition to any room décor?

PREGO ACCOMODATEVI / PLEASE TAKE A SEAT AND MAKE YOURSELVES COMFORTABLE!

prego accomodatevi e mettetevi comode. Vi accolgo questa sera nel salotto buono del mio nuovo appartamento. Si, avete letto bene, ho detto proprio "il mio nuovo appartamento". Infatti, dopo anni di estenuanti ricerche sono finalmente riuscita a trovare il mio nuovo nido. La sorte è stata dalla mia poichè sono riuscita a vendere il mio appartamento precedente senza rimetterci troppi soldi ed ho potuto acquistare quello che per il quale è stato immediatamente amora a prima vista. Lo scorso agosto ci siamo trasferiti.
Durante la lunga ricerca la mia USB da ben 8 Giga si era venuta colmando di immagini di interni che mi hanno avevano particolarmente colpita e che sarebbero state la mia fonte di ispirazione nell'arredare la mia nuova casa. Ho acquistato libri e riviste a non finire ed ho navigato il web a vele spiegate e quando finalmente il mio momento è arrivato avevo veramente le idee molto chiare (pur se con un budget non troppo generoso a disposizione!!!) Nello scegliere l'arredamento la zona living è quella sulla quale ho focalizzato per prima la mia attenzione. Non so perchè, dal momento che in effetti non era una priorità. Forse sarà stato proprio per la sua versatilità: è' infatti nel salotto (ma si chiama ancora così????????) che accogliamo i nostri ospiti, leggiamo un libro o sfogliamo una rivista, sorseggiamo un tè, guardiamo la televisione, ci lasciamo coccolare dalla pigrizia e semplicemente sonnecchiamo sul divano, o lavoriamo al nostro portatile. Ed allora, in attesa di mostrarvi il mio vero salotto, vi regalo le immagini che mi hanno maggiormente ispirata. Spero vi piacciano!

Tonight I've opened the virtual door of my living room in my brand new apartment. No no, no mistakes, you heard me well: I did say MY NEW APARTMENT!!! In fact after years of endless search I finally found my new nest. I must admit I was lucky as I could sell my old apartment at a fairly good price, despite the house market recession, and could then buy the new one. The moment I saw it it was love at first sight and a few months later, last year in August we moved in.
During my search I had been collecting photos of beautifully decorated homes to be inspired when my moment would come. So when the moment did come I had clear ideas of what I wanted my new home to look like. My fave style is an eclectic shabby-nordic-provencal. Does this make any sense to you?
I bought interior decor books and magazines by the hundreds (no kidding here!) and although I knew well that this wouldn't certainly be a priority I started my decorating adventure with my living room. I know that might sound quite odd, but maybe because the living room is so versatile I had to start with that. It is in fact in our living room that we welcome and entertain our guests,read a book or our favorite interior decor magazine, enjoy our afteroon tea, watch tv, work on our laptop or simply curl up on the sofa in cold winter evenings.

I tried to keep mine simple, remembering that less is more. All I focused on was a room that had to be welcoming, inviting and comfortable and a wee bit romantic, too.
Tonight I will just share with you some of the photos that have inspired my most. Hope you will enjoy them as much as I have!
